At the BJP National Executive meeting in Hyderabad, PM Narendra Modi tried to send a big message to the tribal community when he showered praises on Murumu, the NDA presidential candidate, and hailed her journey to office from a humble background, which is almost certain.

He said that it is a matter of pride that a woman belonging to a tribal community is going to be the President of India for the first time, and the whole country is appreciating this decision taken by Modi.

He lamented that it was the BJP government that had appointed a tribal woman to the highest office of the country, which had never happened in the 75 years of independence.

The Prime Minister asked party MPs and MLAs to ensure that they cast their votes correctly as even a small mistake can invalidate many of their votes. He called on them to highlight Murumu's struggle and life which he said was extraordinary.

In 2002, when the BJP proposed the name of AP Abdul Kalam for the post of President, Modi said there was similar enthusiasm among the people for Murumu's candidature.
