US Defence Secretary dials Rajnath Singh, backs India's right to defend itself

US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on May 1 to convey his condolences over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, has drawn strong condemnation from across the globe, with world leaders backing India in its fight against terrorism.

During the phone conversation, Hegseth reaffirmed Washington’s strong support for India’s efforts to combat terrorism. He said the US stands in full solidarity with India during this difficult time and supports its right to defend itself against terrorist threats.
