TTD Chairman YV Subbareddy asked the devotees participating in the annual Brahmotsavam to follow the Covid protocols.
After meeting with the TTD, district and police officials, he told the media that on the first day of the annual festival, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will present silk robes to Sri Venkateswara Swamy on behalf of the state government.
Due to the heavy traffic of devotees, the officials were directed to pay special attention to accommodation, Annaprasad, traffic management and parking. He said pilgrims will be allowed to participate in the mega religious festivals that are attracting devotees this year.
He informed that all special services are being canceled to give priority to common devotees on festival days. It is said that only Sarva Darshan works in these nine days. He explained that elaborate arrangements are being made for the Garuda Seva for the devotees coming from Tamil Nadu as it is the second Saturday of Puratasi month.
Around four to five lakh pilgrims are expected to visit for the Garuda Seva and around 20 thousand pilgrims will reach Tirumala this year, which is much more than the available parking capacity.
He said that after the completion of parking in Tirumala, the vehicles will be parked from the hills in Tirupati and the devotees will be taken to Tirumala by RTC buses.
As a precautionary measure, two-wheelers were banned on the Garuda Seva and Ghat roads the following day.
He said that the APSRTC has been asked to run adequate number of buses to transport the devotees and German sheds with temporary washrooms will also be set up at selected places in Tirumala to cope with the rush.
