TRS MLC and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who has denied her role in the Delhi liquor scam, said here on Monday that the BJP is in power and all investigative agencies are in their hands and they can order any investigation it was necessary.
Speaking to reporters, Kavitha said that since she is the Chief Minister's daughter, the BJP leaders are making baseless allegations against her.
West Delhi MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in a press conference in Delhi on Sunday accused Telangana of having links to the Delhi liquor scam and suspected the role of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's family. Another BJP leader also dragged Kavitha's name in the Delhi liquor scam.
Reacting to this, Kavitha said that the allegations leveled against her and TRS are completely baseless and remain only allegations. Kavitha said that all the agencies are in their hands and they can order any investigation, we will fully cooperate.
She said that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao is criticizing the central government. Kavitha said that the people of Telangana will believe that the BJP is trying to tarnish the image of our (KCR) family by succumbing to Chandrasekhar Rao's allegations against the central government and the people of Telangana will also believe.
We come from a family of fighters. We fought for a separate Telangana. Kavitha said that we are on the streets, we are always on the side of the people, and there is no backing down in our fight.
The TRS MLC alleged that the BJP government is using all investigative agencies, media and everything to silence the opposition. "I'm sorry; BJP is messing with wrong people. We don't back down or back down. We are fighters," Kavitha declared.
He said that the Center is doing revenge politics and this is not good for democracy. She said that making baseless allegations in politics is not a healthy trend. She said that the efforts of BJP leaders will remain useless. She expressed concern that BJP leaders are making such efforts to weaken TRS leaders mentally.
She reminded that even during the special Telangana movement, many allegations were leveled against TRS and such false allegations were never accepted. Kavitha said that she is not afraid of such baseless allegations and the central government has not been able to give a proper answer to the issues raised by the TRS along with the Bilkis Bano rape case.
BJP MP Parvesh Verma will file a defamation suit against former MLA Manjinder Sirsa. Kavitha will also approach the court seeking an injunction order against the accusers.
