YS Jagan MohanReddy is leaving for Delhi and scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. He will leave for the national capital on Thursday afternoon to meet Prime Minister Modi at 4.30 pm.

It is learned that Jagan will discuss various issues related to the state, including arrears due from the Center for the Polavaram project. He is also likely to bring to the fore issues such as the long-pending disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after the partition of the state in 2014. Relevant sources said that the Chief Minister will discuss the guarantees to be fulfilled under the AP Reorganization Act 2014. .

He will also meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other Union Ministers. Jagan will ask the central government to increase the state net debt limit for the current financial year. This has gained importance as the state is facing increasing debt burdens and unaccounted debts.

The central government has allocated Rs. 42,472 crore, while the state has set a debt limit of Rs. 55,000 crore was borrowed here. According to the revised estimate of 2021-22, Rs. 3, 90,670 crore to Rs. 4, 39,394.35 crores. In addition, up to December 31, 2021, Rs. 1, 17,503 crore was guaranteed by the government.

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) have asked the Andhra Pradesh government to provide details of loans raised by public sector undertakings with state guarantee. The CAG has not yet finalized the state's annual accounts for the 2021-22 final year.

Consequently, the central government has not yet determined the latest debt limit, thereby limiting the state’s scope to collect loans from the open market, sources point out.
