In Kakinada in AP, the challenge is thrown like a moving tiger. No matter how many moves are made, it is thick. It is spreading the tactics of the authorities.
The fresh attack, near Suravaram petta mining quarry road, came even as forest officials have been expecting the adult male wild cat to move towards its natural habitat.
On June 4, a large cat killed a cow calf near Sarabavaram village. Efforts by the tiger to hunt the cattle have been in vain ever since. On June 11, three people, including an auto driver, spotted a wild cat near Vajrakootam village in Sankhavaram zone.
Forest officials said the tiger went to the forest a couple of times but returned to a village adjoining the hills for hunting. The villagers did not heed their advice and the authorities pointed out that allowing the cattle to graze in the fields made the tiger an easy prey. The movement of people in the reserve forest area also prevents the tiger from going towards the forest.
Eleshwaram Reserve Forest Officer J Srinivas explained that it has become difficult to calm down or catch the tiger as it is constantly moving. He said there was a possibility of the tiger attacking humans if it tried but failed to catch it.
