Ruia hospital set to get Rs 400 crore incentive from government

A new building with modern infrastructure will be constructed in the premises of Sri Venkateswara Rannarayan Ruya Government General Hospital in Tirupati. Hospital superintendent Dr T Bharti said the G+1 structure will come up with 450-480 beds behind the operation theater block.

The state government has proposed to fund projects worth Rs 400 crore, including construction of a new hospital building, renovation of hostels at SV Medical College and purchase of modern medical equipment worth Rs 50 crore. SVR Ruya is the largest hospital in Rayalaseema region with 1,050 beds.

Once the new building is ready, Ruya Hospital, which caters to poor patients of Rayalaseema and neighboring districts, will have advanced treatment facilities.

Elaborating, Dr Bharti said: “Contracts for construction have been awarded and works will be ground up soon after clearing some pending issues. The government has sanctioned `60 crore for the first phase, which will be completed by March 31, 2023 as per the deadline.

Talking about the Telugu Ganga project pipeline at the site of the new building, Dr Bharti said that the hospital authorities had asked the municipal corporation officials to shift the pipeline and also to move the power lines from the area to start the work. For a new building.
