PM Says, Forget shortcuts and focus on duties for a powerful nation

On the occasion of Independence Centenary, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Tuesday called upon the people to participate in the duty to make the country a powerful nation in 25 years.
PM Narendra Modi said that the gathering at the end of the centenary celebrations of the state assembly building, “People all over the world say that the 21st century belongs to India, but I say that we should dedicate this century to fulfilling our duties. Goals should be achieved while walking in the path of duties.
He said that India is growing as a strong power due to the sense of duty of the people. He suggested that the legislators should behave politely in the House so that their sense of duty should reflect well. He said that the public representatives should reaffirm their commitment towards their duties.
The Prime Minister said that there is a need to abolish not only policies but also ancient laws and policies to keep up with the changing times. "The Center has repealed 1,500 archaic laws, but in the states, there are many archaic laws. These laws need to be reviewed," he said.
"We will be more entitled to our rights if we perform our duties firmly," he added. “We are in the 75th year of independence with a determination to build a new nation. Parliament as well as assemblies has their own responsibilities,” he added.
The Prime Minister sought to contradict those who argued that India accepted democracy only because of foreign rule and foreign ideas. "While most of the world is progressing towards democracy and civilization, democracy in Bihar's Vaishali is at a mature stage," the Prime Minister said.
He commented that India needs to be not only the largest democracy but also a mature democracy. "India is the mother of democracy, and Bihar in particular should be proud to proclaim that," he remarked.
Modi is the first Prime Minister to visit Bihar Assembly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out at opposition parties during his visit to Ranchi, warning the people of the country against 'shortcut politics', saying it can 'destroy' the country.
Addressing a gathering after the inauguration of the Deogarh airport in Jharkhand on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi said, “Shortcut leads to short circuit and asked people to stay away from the politics of shortcuts.
Referring to political parties who give freebies during and after elections, Prime Minister Modi clarified that parties who give free promises cannot build new airports, hospitals or modern roads in the country.
