PM arrives to inaugurate Alluri’s 125th birth anniversary fest at Bhimavaram today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the year-long 125th birth anniversary celebration of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju at Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh tomorrow. Prime Minister will also unveil a 30-feet tall bronze statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju.
The year-long celebrations will be organized at Mogallu and Narsapuram, where Sitharama Raju had studied, and at Chintapalli, Krishna Devi Peta, Pandrangi, Rajavommangi, Addateegala, Devipatnam and other places where he had fought in the forests against the British rulers.
Born on 4th July 1897, Alluri Sitarama Raju is remembered for his fight against the British, in order to safeguard the interests of the tribal communities in the Eastern Ghats region. He had led the Rampa rebellion, which was launched in 1922.
Mr. Modi is scheduled to arrive at Gannavaram airport around 10 a.m. on Monday, and reach Chinna Amiram village by a helicopter.
Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G. Kishan Reddy and others are scheduled to participate in the programme.
The statue built with Rs. 3 crore will be unveiled at the 34th ward of Bhimvaram municipality. As many as 27 family members of Alluri Sitarama Raju will meet Modi. One of them Alluri Sitaramaraju, said he would be request the PM to name Rajamahendravaram airport after the tribal leader.
PM Modi will launch 'Digital India Bhashini', which will facilitate easy access to Internet and digital services in Indian languages, including voice-based access, and help create content in Indian languages.
Prime Minister Modi will launch 'Digital India Genesis' (Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups) - a national deep-tech startup platform to discover, support, grow and create successful startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities of India. A total of Rs.750 crore has been spent for this scheme.
He will also launch 'Indiastack. global', a global repository of key projects implemented under India Stack like Aadhaar, UPI, Digi-Locker, CowiN Vaccination Platform, Government e Market Place (GeM), DIKSHA Platform and Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission.
Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao are among the invitees.
Keeping in mind the monsoons, a tent made with Japanese technology has been erected at the venue to ensure that rains do not become a hindrance to the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Gandhinagar, Gujarat to inaugurate Digital India Week 2022.
