Odisha Vigilance Seizes Rs 2.1 Crore Cash from Chief Engineer’s Residences; Raids Continue Across 7 Locations

It was raining cash in Odisha's Bhubaneswar as over Rs 2 crore were found at a government engineer's premises. The Odisha Vigilance Department has recovered around Rs 2.1 crore in cash during simultaneous raids at seven locations, all linked to a government employee. Baikuntha Nath Sarangi, a Chief Engineer with the Odisha government was accused of possessing assets disproportinate to his know sources of income. After this, a raid was conducted during which over Rs 2 crore were recovered.
In a dramatic turn of events, Mr Sarangi tried to dispose off bundles of cash by throwing out of the window of his flat as vigilance officers arrived.
