After spending an unexpected eight months aboard the International Space Station, NASA astronauts Sunitha Williams and Butch Wilmore finally took their first space-walk together on Thursday, January 30.

The duo-stranded in space due to issues with their return vehicle-floated outside the ISS to perform some routine maintenance. Williams, the Indian-origin commander, and Wilmore also took the opportunity to wipe down the space station's exterior to remove any lingering microbes that might have survived since launch.
