Former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu lashed out at the government here on Monday over the Polavaram irregularities and said the chief minister and his colleagues could not blame the TDP regime for the problems they are now facing in completing the national project.
Addressing his party's strategy committee meeting on Monday, Chandrababu Naidu asked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to explain the reasons behind the criticism of the Center on the 'mismanagement' of Polavaram and the submission of negative reports by several central officials. After the YSRCP government, the project works are going on.
He said that not only has the Chief Minister failed to implement the project properly, he has also failed to provide proper assistance and rehabilitation to the displaced persons.
If the government had sincerely worked for the welfare of the project affected people, there would not have been a demand from the people of 'merged mandals' for Telangana state.
“Why are people worried now? They want to go back to Telangana when their mandals are included in Andhra Pradesh? During such a crisis, they used to stage a dharna demanding to be merged into Telangana if only the government would support them. Floods?" said Chandrababu Naidu.
He criticized the government for cheating the 'poor' in the name of houses with the concept of 'Jagananna Colonies'. He said that the officials are committing exploitation in this scheme and this scheme has become a burden for the people.
