TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu has accused Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSR Congress leaders of excavating hills and turning them into tanks and causing serious threat to the environment.
He described Rushikonda as a necklace for the city of Visakhapatnam. Despite the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) order against Rushikonda mining, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government approached the Supreme Court challenging the NGT order.
Speaking to the media at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri on Wednesday, Naidu said that he has evidence related to illegal mining in 75 places, and asked the officials of the mining, revenue and forest departments along with the chief secretary to the government to say what to say. Doing so when such actions are ongoing.
In the same breath, he called on people to join the fight against the government to save nature. The opposition leader said that if we protect nature, nature will protect us and everyone has the responsibility to protect forests and trees.
The TDP leader commented that the people had given Jagan a chance to rule the state as a trustee for five years and it was not reasonable to spoil it and mess with the environment.
