Muslims celebrate Ramzon with gaiety and fervor

Eid al-Adha was celebrated in the city with much enthusiasm and devotion by thousands of Muslim community members as clad in snow-white traditional attires they offered prayers at the Eidgah located near Indira Nagar colony and exchanged greetings by embracing each other on Tuesday.
Collector Sanket Bhondve and the SP MS Verma also extended greetings to the citizens on the occasion. City qazi Khallikurrehman led the community members to offer namaz in the morning at Eidgah. He also wished for peace and harmony of the city as well as the nation. Apart from Eidgah namaz of the Eid, prayers were also offered at various mosques across the city. Devouts reached well in advance in the morning at the mosques and offered prayers. After namaz the phase of sacrificing goats continued till late hours in the evening.
Minister for housing Jogi Ramesh visited the Alhe Sunnath Jamath Idgah in Gudivada road and greeted Muslims. He announced the sanction of ₹40 lakh for development of the Idgah a burial ground and Shadikhana. He promised more help from the government for the welfare of the Muslims in Pedana assembly segment.
Several Muslims offered special prayers on the road with no Idgah at Rayapudi in Guntur district while Muslims in Islampeta in Bapatla were seen offering mass prayers and exchange of Pleasantries by hugging one another. Gaiety and devotional fervor marked the Ramzan celebrations in Nellore and Prakasam districts.
Minister Govardhan Reddy wished a bright future and success in all the endeavors for all Muslims. Former mayor and TD leader Sk Abdul Aziz, who was not on good terms with Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy for some time, avoided him when he came to hug him. However, he embraced Minister Govardhan Reddy.
