Modi says, Yoga a way of life

On the occasion of the 8th International Yoga Day (IDY), on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a mass yoga demonstration at the Mysore Palace Grounds with thousands of people and said that 'yoga has become a way of life'.
Coinciding with the 8th IDY celebrations, 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', led by 75 Union Ministers, is organizing mass yoga demonstrations along with the Prime Minister's Yoga Performance at 75 iconic venues across the country.
Yoga performances are organized by various educational, social, political, cultural, religious, corporate and other civil society organizations and are attended by millions of people across the country.
The Prime Minister's Yoga Program in Mysore is also part of the novel program. The 'Guardian Yoga Ring' is a collaborative exercise with 79 countries and United Nations agencies, as well as Indian missions abroad, to illustrate the unifying power of yoga across national borders.
Since 2015, International Yoga Day (IDY) has been celebrated worldwide on June 21 every year.
The theme of this year's Yoga Day is "Yoga for Humanity". The theme depicts how yoga has helped humanity in alleviating suffering during the Kovid epidemic.
The event was attended by Karnataka Governor Thavarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the power of yoga, which has been nurtured for centuries through spiritual centers in India like Mysore, is giving direction to world health today.
"Yoga today is the basis of global cooperation and provides humanity with confidence in a healthy life," he says. He said, “Today we see yoga coming out of homes and spreading around the world and it is a picture of spiritual realization, and a picture of natural and shared human consciousness, especially the unprecedented epidemic of the last two years. Prime Minister Modi said.
He added, “Yoga has now become a world festival. Yoga is not just for one person, it is for the whole of humanity. Therefore, this time the theme of the International Yoga Day - Yoga for Humanity. He thanked the United Nations and all countries for taking this theme around the world.
The Prime Minister commented that India is celebrating Yoga Day as the country celebrates its 75th Independence Day Amrit Mahotsav.
