During the road show of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who reached his constituency for a three-day visit in the afternoon, there was tension for some time as the ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP workers clashed and pelted stones in Kumpa on Wednesday.

Srinivas, an YSRCP supporter, was attacked by some TDP workers during Naidu's roadshow in Kollupalli village of Ramakuppam mandal. The TDP workers demolished the flag pole of the ruling party in the village.

In the counter-act, the YSRCP activists allegedly removed the opposition party's campaign materials and tore up the flexi placed on them. In this process, the situation went slowly when the workers of both the parties resorted to stone pelting.

While the road show continued in other areas, tension prevailed in Kollupally village due to clashes and stone-pelting, injuring activists from both sides and some policemen. The police intervened and dispersed both sides and brought the situation under control. Naeem's roadshow continued amid tight police security.

The TDP activists alleged that they had set up their flags next to the publicity material of the YSRCP in the heap. On the other hand, YSRC leaders accused opposition party men of violence in response to "poor public" response to Naidu's road show.

Speaking at a meeting held at Ramakuppam, Naidu accused the YSRCP government of discriminating against the Kuppam assembly segment. He said that the state government is not undertaking any development work in his constituency.

He alleged that no steps were taken to complete the construction of houses and the works of the Handri-Neeva project undertaken during the TDP regime.
