Mallikarjun Kharge elected as Cong President

Prominent Karnataka leader Mallikarjun Kharge from Karnataka on Wednesday defeated his rival Shashi Tharoor to become the first non-Gandhi Congress president in 24 years and the first Scheduled Caste president in four decades.
