Maha Samprokshnam at TTD temple in Amaravati consecrated

The Maha Samprokshanam fete for the newly constructed Sri Venkateswara temple at Venkatapalem on the banks of Krishna River in Guntur district was held on Thursday during the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam between 7:50 am and 8:10 am. Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan attended the religious ceremonies connected with ‘Vigraha Prana Pratishta’ and ‘Maha Samprokshana’, organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

Sri Swarupanandendra Saraswati Swamy of Visakha Sarada Peetham along with Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy unveiled the plaque.

A series of rituals like Punyahavachanam, Kumbharadhana, Nivedana, Maha Purnahuti, and Vimana Gopura Kalasa Avahana etc. were preceded Maha Samprokshnam. Earlier, rituals such as Punyahavachanam, Kumbharadhana, Nivedana, Maha Purnahuti, and Vimana Gopura Kalasa Avahana etc. were performed.Later Prana Pratistha, Brahma Ghosha, Veda Sattumora conducted followed by Dhwajarohanam between 10:30am and 11am.

Speaking on the occasion, Visakha pontiff Swarupanandendra Saraswati hailed the construction of Venkateswara temple at Amaravati as per the wish of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh as a divine replica of Tirumala temple. Subbareddy said TTD had launched an innovative program to build Srivari temples from Kashmir to Kanyakumari as part of preserving and promoting orthodox Hinduism. He said Sri Venkateswara temples have recently been opened in Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. "The Amravati temple was built in two years at a cost of Rs 31 crore. The Srivari Temple in Jammu will be ready in six months.

Subba Reddy said in addition, under the SRIVANI Trust programme 500 Srivari temples have been built in remote areas of tribal, fishermen and weaker sections while plans are afoot for construction of 1,300 temples more in two years in the state.

Meanwhile, Divya Kalyanam, Srinivasa Kalyanam, evening handicrafts and solitary service were performed between 3pm and 4:30 pm. Chief priests Venugopal Dixit and TTD Agama Adviser Vishnu Bhattacharya conducted the pujas. After the pujas, the temple was opened for the devotees.
