Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will present his record 16th State Budget in the Legislative Assembly on Friday, and it is expected to raise borrowings from both domestic and global agencies to ensure infrastructure development, especially in Bengaluru city.
The Budget size is expected to touch ₹4 lakh crore as against the ₹3,71,383 crore in 2024-25. The major task before the Chief Minister is striking a balance between spending on developmental projects and social welfare schemes, especially the five guarantee schemes. A whopping ₹1,20,373 crore had been allocated for welfare programmes in 2024-25.
