AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised to provide employment opportunities to lakhs of people through 4 additional ports and 9 fishing harbors in the state. He said that ports are the beginning of development of any region and that is why he is focusing on increasing the infrastructure.
It is said that economic activities will improve due to port facilities and transport costs will be reduced significantly, Ramayapatnam will now cost Rs. 3,740 crores for 4 berths.
In future we may add 6 more berths, Rs. 200 crores per berth. The Ramayapatnam port initially has a cargo capacity of 25,000 metric tons and it will increase to 50,000 metric tons with a total of 10 berths.
He assured that 75 percent access to ports and related industrial corridors will be provided to the local people and they will stand by the Kandukur constituency.
Rs. 25 crore for a 6.2 km long bypass road to Kandukur, Rs. 27 crores for construction of left bank canal for Rallapadu project and all support to local municipality. The CM assured that a permanent building will be constructed for Ulavapadu PHC.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has hit out at former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and said the foundation stone of Ramayapatnam port was laid in February 2019, two months before the assembly elections without DPR and land acquisition.
Naidu said that nothing has been done for five years and finally the foundation was laid without any plan or allocation. Earlier, after conducting Bhumi Puja, the Chief Minister offered silk clothes and flower garlands and worshiped the sea as part of the tradition.
