Gautam Adani overtakes Warren Buffet and emerges as the richest man

Gautam Adani has become the world's fifth richest person overtaking 91-year-old investor Warren Buffett, according to Forbes. The net worth of Adani, the 59-year-old Adani Group Chairman, has surged to $123.7 billion, while Warren Buffett's net worth stood at $121.7 billion. According to Forbes data, Adani's estimated net worth makes him the richest person in India; $19 billion wealthier than Reliance Industries Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani.

Mukesh Ambani reliance industries chairman and former Asia’s richest, was in 9th position in the Forbes list with a fortune of $101.9 billion.

Meanwhile, Group company Adani Power’s market capitalization has now breached the Rs 1 lakh crore marks on the exchanges. In the next few sessions, it is expected that Adani Wilmar will become the seventh group company to enter this coveted list as its current market cap has peaked to around Rs 98,000 crore.
