Election Commission counts votes; BJP crosses majority mark with 40 seats, AAP narrows gap

As Election Commission of India began counting of votes at 8 am with postal ballots, the BJP raced ahead and was leading on over 42 seats within the first 30 minutes and crossed the majority mark of 36 in early leads later. These, however, were very early trends. The AAP was ahead in over 28 seats at 10:20 am, while BJP was leading in 42 constituencies.
