Durgamma Puja is performed in 10 temples in America

The Department of Revenue has sent four priests to launch 'Durgamma Vari Pujas in America' to promote religious practices and traditions similar to the Sri Durga Malleshwara Swami Warla Temple (SDMSD) on Indrakeeladri in various temples abroad including America.

On the orders of Revenue Commissioner M Hari Jawaharlal Nehru and Durga Temple Executive Officer Darbamulla Bramaramba, a team of four priests led by Temple Vedic Committee Chairman Shankar Sandilya arrived in San Francisco on Thursday with the statues and ornaments of Chairperson Kanakadurga. Visited 10 temples until June 1 and sent a delegation to the US from Thursday to perform the traditional rites of Kanakadurgamata in Milpitas (California).

AP Endowments (NRI Division) Adviser Subbarao Chennuri said that devotees in America will be given a similar view of Kanakadurgadevi at the Indrakeeladri Temple. Kanakadurgamata and Malleshwara Swamy brought idols, gold ornaments, silk and other items used for traditional worship.
