World leaders have reacted with shock and strong condemnation following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22 that left at least 26 people, including two foreign nationals, dead.
US Vice President JD Vance, currently in India with his family, also expressed shock. “Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims... Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack,” he stated.
PM Modi, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time of the attack, cut short his visit and returned to India.
Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the attack as a “brutal crime” and called for justice. “We expect that its sponsors and perpetrators will face a deserved punishment,” he said in a message sent to the Indian President and Prime Minister.
