Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy credited Rs 3,758 crore as first tranche of YSR Rythu Bharosa, benefitting over 50 lakh farmers for the fourth consecutive year in a row. Addressing the gathering the occasion the chief minister said that so far through Rythu Bharosa scheme alone 23,875 crore had been deposited directly in farmer’s accounts and 1,10,093 crore was spent on farmer’s welfare through various schemes. Unlike the previous government which only spent 782 crore towards zero interest crop loans, he said the state government has paid 1,282 crore for zero interest loans initiative.

T CM said that for the first time in the history of the country that compensation was disbursed during the same season, recalling the farmer welfare schemes. He also said that due to the measures taken by the government, there was no need to declare any mandal as drought affected. The Chief Minister said there was no need to declare a single mandal in the state as a drought affected in the last three years as every reservoir was full and groundwater levels are increased to a record level where the production of food grains increased by 16 lakh tones.

“Since the government is implementing every scheme in a transparent manner, the Rythu Paramarsa Yatra by Pawan Kalyan did not get any support from the farmers," he said. Pawan Kalyan never questioned Chandrababu Naidu when the latter had failed to waive off crop loans, and implement welfare schemes for the farmers. "Neither the opposition TDP nor his allies have any moral right to speak for farmers' welfare," he said.
