Boys secures top 10 ranks in AP Engineering entrance exam

Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana announced the results of Engineering, Agricultural and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (AP EAPSET) in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
First, all the top 10 ranks in the engineering stream were bagged by boys, with Boya Haren Sathvik from Sri Sathyasai district bagging the first rank. Poli Lakshmi Lohit Reddy from Prakasam district and Minta Hima Vamsi from Srikakulam secured two ranks respectively.
Hailing from Hindupur, Boya Haren completed his schooling from Sathvik Narayana School and completed his Intermediate from Narayana College, Bangalore. In another co-incident, three boys have scored 99.99 percentile in JEE Mains-2022 and want to pursue engineering from IIT-Bombay. All their parents are teachers of their respective local government schools.
Vajra Dinesh Karthik Reddy bagged the top rank and Matta Durga Sai Kirti Teja bagged the second rank in Agriculture Stream (Agriculture and Pharma). Asu Hindu (State Rank- 3) and Gunukuntla Tatwa Mayukha (State Rank 5) are the only two girls in the top 10 rankers.
A total of 3, 00,111 candidates have registered for the exam with 2, 05,518 appearing for the engineering stream, 93,532 for agriculture and 1,061 for both. A total of 89.12 per cent engineering candidates and 95.06 per cent students who registered in the agriculture stream passed the examination.
The Minister of Education explained that the candidates of General and OBC categories need to score at least 40 marks out of 160 marks (25 percent) to qualify, but there are no minimum qualifying marks for SC and ST candidates appearing in the examination.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTU) conducted EAPCET-2022 from July 4 to 13. The results are declared after 10 days of the examination.
Higher Education Council Principal Secretary Shyama Rao, AP State Council of Higher Education Chairman Professor K Hemachandra Reddy, JNTU-Ananthapuram Vice Chancellor Ranga Janardhan and others were present.
AP has 258 engineering colleges with 1, 48,288 seats and 127 pharmacy colleges with 16,700 seats. Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University (AGNRAU) has announced the admissions for the candidates for Agriculture Colleges.
