Bengaluru stampede: Siddaramaiah announces ₹10 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of victims, govt. to provide free treatment to injured

A short while after 11 people who had arrived to witness Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory parade lost their lives in a stampede-like situation on Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the media, stating that the turnout for the celebrations exceeded expectations. Tragically, as many as 33 people also suffered injuries in the incident near Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the parade.

The Karnataka CM has announced ₹10 lakh aid for victims’ families and ordered a magisterial inquiry into the stampede-like situation.
