Assam MLA arrested for 'defending' Pakistan after Pahalgam terror attack

The Assam Police on Thursday arrested Aminul Islam, an MLA from the opposition All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA on sedition charges for allegedly defending Pakistan in the aftermath of the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam two days ago.

The AIUDF distanced itself from the legislator's comments, stating that the views were his own and not of the party.
