Andhra will represent with 160 players at Khelo India

RK Roja, Minister for Tourism, Sports and Cultural Development on Wednesday spoke to the athletes representing the state at the Khelo India Youth Games to be held in Panchkula, Haryana from June 4 to 13. The minister called on the players to showcase their skills. And win medals for the state.

The minister participated in an interactive session with the players at an event organized by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAP) at Tummalapalli Kalakshetra. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Roja said that the number of participants in Khelo India from the state has increased to 160 this year.

SAAP chairman Byreddy Siddartha Reddy said a toll-free number has been set up to let players know if there are any problems. Sheikh Zafrin, who later won a bronze medal at the 2021 Deaf Olympics in Brazil, was honored by the Minister, SAAP Chairperson. Roja also unveiled the poster for the third National Paralympics Cricket Tournament - 2022.

The Minister said that SAAP will soon be organizing special sports competitions for the employees of the Secretariat. She participated in the gift distribution program at the Provisional Government Gazette in Velagapudi. About 600 employees participated in the 13 events, said AP Secretariat Employees Association president K Venkataramireddy.
