India has launched the second edition of Machine Learning (ML) Summer School with an aim to provide students the opportunity to learn key ML technologies from Scientists at Amazon making them industry ready for careers in science.

Conducted over four weekends in July, the course offers students the opportunity to master supervised learning, including deep neural networks, sequential models, dimensional reduction, improvised learning and two new modules, reinforcement learning and casual inference on keynote topics.

Participants would also have access to Amazon Research Days (ARD) conference – an engagement program held in November every year.

“Amazon ML Summer School aims to provide excellent training in advanced machine learning for students participating in a wide range of subjects, from basic to state-of-the-art”.

The program will be a platform to help develop ML excellence and develop applied science skills in young talents. Our goal with ML Summer School is to equip students with the practical experience they need and prepare them for science roles,”said Rajeev Rastogi, Vice President, and Amazon International Machine Learning.

Amazon is hosting its flagship ML competition, the ML Challenge, in August, an opportunity for students to work on the Amazon dataset, bring in fresh ideas and create innovative solutions for problem solving in the real world. Winning teams will receive cash prizes and certificates as well as pre-placement interviews (PPIs) for ML roles on Amazon.
