Alluri Sita Rama Raju birth celebrations: Alluri's grandson says it is the greatest day of our life

"This is a great day in our life. We never dreamed that one day the country's Prime Minister Bhimavaram would come and inaugurate the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of my grandfather Alluri Sitaramaraj," Alluri Sreeramaraj was emotional. He said after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

Sri Rama Raju is one of the family members and associates of revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri who was honored by Prime Minister Modi. He came to Bhimavaram along with other descendants to attend the inauguration of Alluri's 125th birth anniversary celebrations.

Sri Ramaraju said that the people of Bhimavaram came together and installed a 30 feet bronze statue of our grandfather and we were thrilled by the gesture of Alluri Sitaramaraj Jayanti Utsavala Committee.

All his family members are scattered in different parts of Godavari districts, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. "We feel privileged to be invited. Modi honored my uncle Alluri Venkataramaraj. We were seated in a special gallery. What more can we expect," Sri Ramaraj was elated.

He appealed to the government to preserve the memories of Alluri in North Coastal Andhra. He said that it is the credit of the Center that it has decided to celebrate Alluri's 125th birth anniversary as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

As part of the celebrations, the PM honored two descendants or family members of Alluri and his close associate Mallu Dora. After honoring Alluri Venkatamaraju (83) and Bodi Dora alias Bodi Raju (89), Modi bowed before them.

It may be recalled that Malludora and Gantandora are staunch followers of Alluri. They fought against the British in the Agency area of ​​the Eastern Ghats spread across Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.

Venkataramaraj was the son of Alluri's brother Satyanarayana. Venkatramaraju, who is in the evening, spends his days in Hyderabad. Malludora's grandson Bodi Dora (89) was also honored by PM Narendra Modi at the stage in a wheelchair.

Venkatamaraju said that he owes the sacrifice of Alluri to the nation who cannot forget it. Retired from District Rural Development Corporation. He expressed happiness over the naming of Parvathipuram, which was newly established as Paderu center in commemoration of Alluri, as Manyam district. Many members of Alluri's family attended the event.

Modi felicitated Nagaraju and Naniraj, organizers of the Alluri Sitaramaraj Utsav Committee and took selfies with them. Actress-turned-politician and Tourism Minister RK Roja also took a selfie with Prime Minister and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on this occasion.
