Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is all set to tie the knot with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur in Chandigarh on Thursday. This will be Mann’s second marriage. The couple will be getting married in an intimate ceremony, in presence of close family and friends.
"The chief minister is getting married in a private ceremony. He will tie the knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur, who belongs to Pehowa in Haryana's Kurukshetra," AAP's Punjab unit chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang told PTI over the phone on Wednesday.
This is Mann's second marriage. Gurupreet (32) completed MBBS in 2018 from Maharshi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, and Haryana. She hails from Pehowa in Kurukshetra district but now lives in Rajpura, Punjab. Gurpreet is the youngest of three sisters.
"I wish my Chief Minister Bhagwant Manji a very happy and blessed married life ahead. I wish them both a lifetime of love, respect and companionship," Bains said. Arora congratulated Mann on starting married life and wished "May the life of both be filled with joy, happiness, love, prosperity, health and companionship. May the Almighty shower his blessings on both of you?"
In 2015, Mann divorced his first wife, Indrapreet Kaur. She now lives in the US with their two children Dilshan and Seerat. Both the children attended Mann's swearing-in ceremony at Khatkar Kalan in March this year.
Around 80 people including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will attend the event. The Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding ceremony) is likely to be held at the CM's official residence or at a Gurdwara.
