SRM-AP student bags 3 gold’s in rifle shooting

Tummala Bhuvita, a student of SRM University-AP Computer Science Engineering, showed extraordinary talent in the 22nd state level rifle shooting competition organized at Hyderabad Central University under the auspices of the National Rifle Association of India.

She won first place and three gold medals in the 10m air rifle shooting competitions held in senior, junior and youth categories.

More than 100 shooters from Andhra Pradesh participated in the competitions held from July 4. Bhuvita has previously won gold medals twice in the state and national level rifle shooting competitions held in different regions.

Bhuvita learned shooting techniques from Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, a coach at the Indian Academy of Shooting Sports in Vijayawada. "I became passionate about rifle shooting because it is an individual sport that requires a lot of focus and concentration," says Bhuvita.

University President Dr P Satyanarayanan, Vice Chancellor Prof VS Rao and Registrar Dr Premkumar congratulated Bhuvita.
