Former India cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly narrowly escaped a major accident on Thursday when his car was involved in a collision on Durgapur Expressway in West Bengal while he was on the way to an event.

The incident occurred at Dantanpur where a lorry suddenly overtook Ganguly's convoy, forcing the driver to apply the brakes abruptly. This led to a chain reaction, causing the cars behind Ganguly’s vehicle to collide with each other, and one of them hitting Ganguly’s car.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. However, two cars in Ganguly’s convoy suffered minor damage. Ganguly was forced to wait on the road for about 10 minutes before proceeding to Burdwan University, where he attended a scheduled function.
