Dr. Annavarapu Ramaswamy, classical violinist and Padma Shri awardee, said that Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, musician and Carnatic singer, is an unparalleled linguist and pride of the Telugu land.
Sadguru Susarla Dakshinamurthy Sastri and singer Sarvabhuma Sri Parupalli Ramakrishnaiah Panthulu at Sri Sringeri Sarada Peetha remembered their association with Balamurali on his birth anniversary at a five-day Carnatic music concert.
According to the pre-announced schedule, Ramaswami was scheduled to perform; however, much to the disappointment of the audience, he was limited to addressing the assembly without performing.
Speaking on this occasion, Rama Swami said that he had received training from the same Guru Parupalli Ramakrishnaiah Panthulu in Vijayawada. By the age of 14, Balamurali could sing in all 72 Melakarta ragas.
For the past four days, Sadhguru's disciples and parishioners enthralled the audience by performing on veena, violin, voice and mridangam. Kalaratna Modumudi Sudhakar also performed in the concert and gave a befitting treat to the music lovers.
