Rohit Sharma's Test retirement his own call, no pressure from BCCI: Rajiv Shukla

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has said that Rohit Sharma's Test retirement was his call and the cricket board didn't pressurise the 38-year-old into making that decision. Rohit announced his Test retirement via an Instagram story on Wednesday, May 7, just ahead of the selection for the England tour.

Speaking to PTI, Shukla said that BCCI's welcomes the decision from Rohit and said the board doesn't put pressure on players who have made the decision to retire. The BCCI vice-president went on to praise Rohit for his contributions and hailed him as a great batter.
