AP High Court judge, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, and executive chairman of the AP State Legal Services Authority, said the judiciary would look after welfare schemes for all eligible people. He was addressing a meeting at the Guntur Medical College Auditorium on Wednesday on the topic of 'Effective implementation of Poverty Alleviation Scheme-2015'.
He said that financial crimes are being committed against the poor in the society and the rich should stand by the poor. He said that access to welfare schemes was the right of every citizen and the society would prosper only when welfare schemes were made available to all the deserving and distributed among them equally. He said the constitution gave all powers to the common man. "Truth be told, society is calm."
He interacted with the women and made them aware of the welfare schemes. One woman said she had enrolled more than a thousand people to raise awareness on e-Srama cards and ordered authorities to hire her as a paralegal volunteer.
VSBG Pardha Saradhi, District Judge, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, said that the mission of the Legal Services Authority was to provide assistance to the underprivileged and bring them to justice. Partha Saradhi said DLSA provided free legal services to 158 poor people.
AP State Legal Services Authority Member Secretary, District Sessions Judge M Babita said the judiciary was taking steps to provide free legal services to the poor.
District Collector M Venugopal Reddy asked the people to go to the secretariat once a week and inquire about the benefits of various welfare schemes. It was then handed over to the beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.
Palnadu District Collector Shivshankar, Bapatla Joint Collector Nivas, Guntur Urban SP K Arif Hafeez, Bapatla District SP Vakul Jindal, Palnadu District SP Y Shivashankar Reddy, Guntur District Legal Services Authority Secretary K Ratnakumar and Guntur District Bar Association President Venkateshwar were present. Others attended the meeting.
