‘Ragging’ death: The ‘brilliant’ student died barely a month after joining medical college

The student who had scored 550 in NEET without taking any coaching classes — died after he was allegedly ragged by his seniors in his hostel on the intervening night of November 16-17.

          An eerie silence gripped the house as relatives gathered to mourn the death of 18-year-old Anil Methaniya, a first-year student at Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS) Medical College at Dharpur in Patan. Anil had joined the college on October 14, barely a month before his death.
