PJTSAU signs 3 MoUs to promote TS farmer’s interests

Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three national and international organizations here on Tuesday.
The MoUs were signed by Registrar PJTSAU, Dr S Sudhir Kumar and Professor Rajeev Varshne, International Chair, Murdoch University, Australia, Mithun Chand, Director Covereds, Secunderabad and Managing Director P Lakshminarayana, August. Bio Systems, Hyderabad, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Dr. V Praveen Rao.
Officials of PJTSAU and representatives of three organizations participated. The first MoU between "Murdoch" and "PJTSAU" calls for cooperation to promote progress in international understanding, learning dissemination and strengthening cultural ties.
The parties wished to have a general MOU to form the basis on which such cooperation could be developed.
They plan to start dual degree programs. The Mo U between PJTSAU and Kaveri Seeds seeks to establish collaborative programs for scientific knowledge, capacity building and student exchange and to design and conduct collaborative research projects subject to approvals from regulatory agencies to introduce high-performance crops in India markets.
Through the MoU, Ag. Bio Systems and PJTSAU intend to support each other in collaborative research in facilities sharing, biological pest and disease management, PG and PhD research guidance and advisory and student exchange.
Ag Bio Systems is a pioneer in the creation of many novel products that are biologically active in controlling dreaded crop pests. The main focus is to replace chemicals in pest and disease management, control fungal and bacterial diseases in high value crops and export crops.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Praveen Rao said that students and faculty will benefit immensely from these partnerships to initiate collaborative research programs for the greater benefit of the farmers of the state.
