confidence in your topic well). Have your outline with you refer to as you make the presentation and to trigger your thoughts as you speak. In the initial stages honest feedback in a one-on-one situation. Ask colleagues for their opinion- what works well and what needs improvement.

4. My best friend is a wonderful person, but lately, she only talks about herself. She’s in therapy and I think she’s much happier than she used to be, but she’s so self obsessed. Is it possible that she’s had too much therapy?

M. Sagarika, Guntur

Intense therapy takes people apart and puts them back together; ideally, it makes them into a better-functioning model. During the process, the person in therapy can be the biggest bore on the planet: utterly self obsessed and apparently oblivious to anything outside his or her are healing process. Can a person have too much therapy? Yes, I believe so. People can become addicted to the therapeutic process. But as your friend’s tedious egocentricity is very recent, it could be temporary, perhaps even signaling the end of it. Bear with her for a few months. If it continues, tell her straight out that you find her too self-centered.
