Roja Reddy will be present as special guests. Deputy Chief Minister Peedika Rajannadora will also attend the ceremony.
The Rampa Rebellion, also known as the Manyam Rebellion, was a tribal rebellion led by King Alluri Sitarama in the Visakhapatnam district of the erstwhile Madras Presidency. It began in August 1922 and continued until the king was arrested and killed in May 1924.
According to historians, the rebellion started when the British Raj wanted to increase the economic utility of lands in tribal areas by curbing traditional practices like padu cultivation.
Alluri Sitaramaraj does not belong to any tribal group. But he resented the restrictions imposed by the British on tribal life. Along with 500 tribesmen, they raided Chintapalli, Krishnadevipet and Rajavommangi police stations and took away 26 police carbine guns and 2,000 rounds of ammunition.
Alluri Sitarama Raju was eventually caught, tied to a tree and shot dead.
