Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday called for a united struggle to solve the problems of farmers in the country.
On the second day, Sunday, KCR addressed a conference of farmers who came from 25 states. Reminding them of the movement for a separate Telangana, he criticized all those who are ashamed to say 'Jai Telangana' Jai Telangana slogan.
This was made possible by a simultaneous struggle within and outside Parliament. Similarly, he said that the unorganized farmers should be brought on a single platform and then it would be possible to call all the anti-farmer leaders 'Jai Kisan'.
KCR said that all the farmers across the country need to be united for this; the farmer is the backbone of the country and only when the farmer is happy it will develop and prosper.
He said that the Center has become anti-farmer; hence the time has come to defeat their policies and save the agriculture sector. The CMO said that KCR should take the lead to organize the farmers from the village level to the farmers who participated in the two-day conference.
In view of the decision taken on Saturday to form the Rythu Joint Action Committee, KCR was asked to organize a meeting soon and finalize the procedures.
KCR is reported to have said that if the farmers decide to fight united, there is no power to stop them. Recalling the Telangana movement, he said that many people fought before him for a separate Telangana, but it was only because of his determination and continuous struggle that it materialized.
Unlike his predecessors, he said, he made it a combination of political struggle and ground-level agitation. KCR said that this is an uphill battle and such a strategy should be adopted to protect the farmers from the anti-farmer forces.
