The Indian cricket board (BCCI) on Monday confirmed that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season will resume from May 17. The IPL was suspended for a week due to the heightened cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. The board said that the remainder of the season will be played across six venues with the final scheduled for June 3.
The BCCI said the decision to restart the IPL was taken after extensive consultations with the government, security agencies and all stakeholders. "After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season."
