Govt asked to celebrate Alluri Jayanthi in Rajamahendravaram

President of the Alluri Sitaramaraj National Youth Association, Padala Veerabhadra Rao, demanded that the 125th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Alluri Sitaramaraj be officially celebrated on July 4 in Rajahmundry under the auspices of the Municipal Corporation on behalf of the state government.

Rajamahendravaram Urban Development Authority (RUDA) chairperson Medapati Sharmila Reddy submitted a petition to this effect.

Padala recalled Sitaramaraj's association with Rajamahendravaram. Rama Raju lived in Rajahmundry for 13 years and passed 6th standard in the municipal school here. Ramaraju's father Venkataramanaraju also worked as a journalist running a photo studio at a deluxe center in the city.

Sharmila Reddy assured to take up the issue with the government. Association members Ch Sivannarayana, Y Umamaheswara Rao and Raghavendra Participated.
