Krishna District Collector S Dilli Rao on Monday held a review meeting with the officials of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Warla Devasthanam (SDMSD) on the arrangements for Dussehra celebrations to be held from September 26 to October 5.
After the meeting, the temple officials and a team of special engineers inspected the temple premises on Monday and suggested that modifications be made so that the festival can be held smoothly.
As part of the preparatory work, the authorities have closed the ghat road leading to the temple for repairs to the ghat road and installed a chain link fence to prevent landslides.
More than 30,000 devotees are expected to visit the temple during the festivities, and 2 lakh devotees are expected to visit the sacred Moolanakshatra. The collector directed the executive officer of the temple to hold a meeting with other departments regarding the works.
Within a week we will complete the construction of the hill fort and allow vehicles on the ghat road. He said that additional prasadam counters will be set up to avoid crowding.
