Over the past three decades Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala has won itself an enviable reputation as a pioneer in liberal avant-grade education with parents and teachers working in close co-operation.

Promoted in 1983 by a group of likeminded and progressive people who were disillusioned by traditional colleges in A.P’s commercial capital, Vijayawada , the college was started with 140 students is now increased to 1600 student strong. The college is spread over an area of 8.22 acres. It is located at the heart of the city and is very close to the main road. The college building is a four-storied U-shaped building with 82 classrooms. It houses laboratories, faculty rooms, administrative office and physical fitness centre. Playgrounds are also on the same

premises. Water cooler facilities exhaust fans, elevator, vehicle parking space for the staff and the students, a seminar hall with a seating capacity of 300 people, separate room for Audio-Visual teaching, a Physical fitness centre and there are two hostels on the campus.

Each hostel has ground plus three floors and each hostel accommodates 300 students. Its achievement in accordance with its ambition about women’s education is a dream come true. The college attained autonomous status during the academic year 2003-04. Two P.G courses M.com & M.Sc (Mathematics) were also started from the same year. Introduction of Choice Based Credit System and Grading System from the academic year 2005-06 is another feather added to its cap. The college follows semester system and conducts a good number of Guest Lectures, Workshops & Seminars for the benefit of the students.

NAAC Accreditation- the college was accredited at B++ level during 2006-07. The college has established a good tradition of excellent academic discipline and received all the encouragement from its philanthropic group of members of the management. All these 28 years of its fruitful existence the college has been working dedicatedly and relentlessly to mould the girl students into knowledgeable, resourceful, creative and successful members of the society. With systematic imparting of knowledge through various academic and co-academic activities, the college has been striving hard to rise to the standards and expectations of the society. The college has contributed many a gem of students in various walks of life. It is proud of contributing many national level players and three International Players to the Badminton field. There are 1600 students in U.G courses.

There are 74 teaching staff & 56 non-teaching staff in the college Among the Teaching staff 7 members are Ph.D., holders and 24 members have M.Phils. The college presently offers 11

courses at U.G level and 2 courses at P.G level. The college enjoys autonomy with regard to the under graduate courses. To provide opportunities of self-employment to the students, college introduced 17 diversified courses and 11 certificate programmes. This helps the students to earn while they are learning and makes them self-confident and reliant.
