AKNU students stage dharna over hostel problems

Many students protested at the main entrance of Adikavi Nannaya University on Monday under the auspices of the Students Federation of India to resolve the problems in the university.

YSRCP CGC member Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi stood by the students. She expressed her concern that even though the students had been telling their problems to the authorities for some time, there was no response from them.

She said that it is sad that even the just demand like good food and accommodation is ignored. She alleged that even if there are stones and worms in the rice, the authorities are not taking action against the mess contractors.

Vijayalakshmi expressed concern that the unsanitary environment behind the hostel was not seen by the university authorities.

She said that the university authorities were threatening the students who raised demands and she had also come to the notice of irregularities in the matter of scholarships.

The YSRCP leader demanded that the university authorities take immediate action. He warned that if the authorities do not respond, they will have to face dire consequences. The university authorities have given a written assurance that the problems will be resolved.
