Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who is facing a major uprising in the Shiv Sena ranks, has sacked nine rebel ministries. Of these nine, five are cabinet ministers and four are state ministers.
An order states that "public welfare work has not stopped" by redistributing the responsibilities of these rebel ministers, who are now staying with other rebel MLAs at a hotel in Guwahati, to other ministers.
Subhash Desai has been handed over the portfolios of Urban Development and Public Works, which were formerly with rebel group leader Eknath Shinde. Rebel minister Gulabrao Patil has been removed from water supply and sanitation charges.
The portfolios were handed over to Anil Parab. The branches of agriculture and ex-servicemen formerly at Dadaji Bhuse, the employment guarantee and horticulture departments at Sandeepan Bhumare are now at Shankar Gadak.
The higher education and technical departments under Uday Sawant have been handed over to Aditya Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray also lashed out at state ministers.
Three portfolios of Shambhuraj Desai were distributed to Sanjay Bansode, Satej Patil and Vishwajit Kadam. The four ministries comprising Rajendra Patil (Yadravkar) were distributed to Vishwajeet Kadam, Prajakt Tanpure, Satej Patil and Aditi Tatkare.
The three portfolios with Abdul Sattar are now with Prajakt Tanpure, Satej Patil and Aditi Tatkare. The four charges against Omprakash Kudu have been distributed to Aditi Tatkare, Satej Patil, Sanjay Bansode and Dattatray Bharne.
