TTD and AP Non-Resident Telugu Society held their first Srinivasa Kalyanam in the Bay Area, San Francisco, USA, attended by TTD Chairman Shri YV Subbareddy.
A large number of devotees attended the celestial wedding held at the Indian Community Center here. The incident took place on Sunday morning according to Indian time.
In this order a divine ceremony was performed by the priests amidst the chanting of the Vedas.
Punahavachanam: It is a sacred rite performed to clean all objects and premises before the commencement of the celestial wedding.
Vishwaksena Aradhana: Lord Vishwaksena was the Commander-in-Chief of Lord Venkateswara who was overseeing the ritual so his blessings were sought.
The purified water in the cauldron is sprinkled on the homakundam and all the objects in the pavilion.
Ankurarpana: The next germination is followed, which marks a healthy start before any ritual. The Ashta Dikpalakas are invoked and worshiped during this ritual.
Pratisara Bandhana: It is another important part of the celestial marriage, where the sacred bracelets (sacred threads) are tied to the right hand of the Lord and to the left hand of His wives, while the ritual priests tie it only to their right hands. Swasti Suktam was recited.
Agni Pratishta: Afterwards the penance was followed by the burning of the sacred fire and the atoning homa was performed there.
Vastra Samarpana: New silks were presented to the gods after the bonfire.
Maha Sankalpam: Maha Sankalpa is an important stage in the ritual of Kanyadanam on behalf of the mother of the Tallapaka family (a family who has dedicated their lives in the service of Venkateswara for the last 600 years).
Kanyadanam: In any Hindu marriage, Kanyadanam occupies a prominent place. Here the priests recited the tribal genealogies of God and his wives
Mangalya Dharana Mahotsavam: The Divine Wedding Ceremony came to a grand end with, Mangalya Dharana where Lord Venkateswara tied the Holy Mangala Sutrams to His beloved Consorts.
Varana Mayiram: This is the most popular and most entertaining stage usually performed during South Indian Hindu weddings. The Lord and his wives played with flower balls and coconuts in front of each other. (Here the ritual was performed by priests and clansmen on behalf of the gods). Later, flowers were exchanged for the deities.
Aarti: After the conclusion of the pleasant “Love Game”, the Consorts were seated on either side of the Lord, with Sridevi taking the Right side and Bhudevi occupying the left place of Maha Simhasanam.
Finally, Karpura Aarti, Nakshatra Aarti and Maha Aarti symbolize the great end of the celestial wedding ceremony.
Along with Shri YV Subbareddy, his wife Shri Swarnalatha, AP NRT Chairman Shri Medapati Venka, SVBC Board Director Damarukam Srinivasa Reddy, Ratnakar Pandugayala-USA Special Envoy, Sridhar Korsapati-NATA President and others were present.
The devotees cherished every moment with religious ecstasy.
