Shar's miniature rocket models mesmerized the young students. Their curiosity about the place was evident with their questions to the organizers about various topics.
In honor of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, every ministry is organizing various programs to showcase the achievements of the last 75 years. As part of this, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) of the Ministry of Space has launched 'Space on Wheels' with a specially designed mobile exhibition.
It aims to provide an insight into ISRO's prowess in deploying rockets, satellites and their applications to realize India's scientific development vision. It tours many schools and public places and attracts a large number of students and general public.
SHAR officials along with the District Education Department made this mobile exhibition vehicle available at three locations in Tirupati city for three days from July 18-20. Nitisha, a 9th standard student at Narayana School, told The Hans India, "I have learned a lot here.
By observing different models, I gained better insight into rockets and satellites. It was very informative and educational."
Scale down models, miniature satellite models and technological applications of satellites inspired the scientific temper of the school's students to pursue science and technology as a career, Shaar representatives said.
'Space on Wheels' includes prototypes of the first two launch pads, Chandrayaan - 1 Mission, Indian Mars Orbiter Mission - Mangalyaan, Indian Remote Sensing Applications, Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), and Indian Satellite Communication Applications.
The lunar surface is shown with an artist's view of the astronaut and the Chandrayaan-II spacecraft. All these models are presented with their details which give a better insight into them.
The officials explained the classification of rockets, how they are made, satellite performance, Astrosat - Multi Wavelength Astronomical Space Observatory and much other information.
